We received reports of delayed email processing, which meant envelopes were sending very slowly.
Investigation revealed that in part of our infrastructure, a bottleneck had formed due a huge spike in additional load to normal activity.
We were able to deploy further resources to clear the queue and normal service resumed shortly afterwards.
To mitigate this happening in the future, we have increased the performance limits of our infrastructure to accommodate spikes in activity.
As a precaution, we continue to monitor this area and have run queries to identify and manage any envelopes that may have been corrupted during this incident.
